Buyer beware: Bush just signed the bill to change the schedule starting 2007. Clocks will be set ahead one hour on the second Sunday of March instead of the current first Sunday of April. Clocks will be set back one hour on the first Sunday in November, rather than the last Sunday of October. This will affect accuracy of electronic clocks that had pre-programmed dates for adjusting to daylight saving time. The date for the end of daylight saving time has the effect of increasing evening light on Halloween (October 31).

Isn't this an atomic clock? If so, it just receives a signal from the radio tower in Florida, which I am sure will be adjusted.

# 9     Posted 12:44 PM PST 11/1 by shaka999 Unregistered - Email: N/A - IP: 147.145.40.43

I thought the signal came from NIST in Boulder Colorado

That is the atomic clock, but according to the booklet that came with my SkyScan, the Boulder, CO system actually calculates the time, and then the Florida tower "repeats" it to the nation over the air. Did anyone else notice that under "product dimensions" it says 20,000.0 pounds? :)

how it this buyer beware again? I think you have a beef against Bush b/c you dont want to replace that clock you paid $100 for back in 1982 with a $20 atomic one.

#13, I don't believe you've gauged the nature of #7's beef correctly.

I have this clock. It doesn't receive signal as well as the digital ones (no hands), and it's a pain to set it manually because it only advance by minutes. But once it gets in sync, it works like a charm. If you don't care about the elegance of an analog clock, buy a digital one. If you do, this is a good deal. Fry's has it for at least $20 for a smaller size.

#8: I think the atomic clock broadcast is Coordinated Universal Time, without adjustments for daylight savings or time zones, so you may be SOL with this clock when the new law comes into effect.

I have 2 LaCrosse atomic analog clocks and a Lacrosse digital atomic clock. They did strange thing last Sunday. Both atomic clocks adjusted time 1 hour backward right after they hit 2:00am. Cool! But oh well, when I woke up in the morning I saw the clocks set back to the old time. Sh*t. They sync back to correct time on the next Mon midnight.
The digital atomic clock did not change time at all when it approached 2:00am but in the morning I woke up and saw it syc. to correct time.

#10: 'Product Dimensions: 20000.0 pounds.' That is the equivalent in TNT, not the actual weight.

Amazon now has: "Dimensions: 0.00 inches x 0.00 inches x 0.00 inches"

Makes it kind of hard to read, eh?

#16, The time codes sent from WWVB include not only Universal Coordinated Time, but also information about daylight savings and leap years.

#20, I don't know about this particular clock, but the atomic clocks I own allow you to switch off the daylight savings adjustment.

As copied from the CBS.com site:

In July 2005, U.S. legislators voted to extend daylight time by one month in the spring and one month in the fall, so daylight time would start the first weekend in March and end the last weekend in November. Time experts predict scheduling chaos if Canada doesn't follow suit.

Thanks for the enlightenment #7....I always can use more.

I'd rather have the digital version with date, daye of week and indoor temparature for $5 more.

Search for the below since 2 actually come up. There is the one that is $19.99 vs 14.99.

Guys, the work will work no matter daylight saving changes or not. THE SIGNAL THAT THE CLOCK GET THE TIME FROM WILL CHANGE TOO! Do not let this affect your decision.

We ought to abolish so-called "Daylight Saving Time": it saves NOTHING, it accomplishes NOTHING, and it costs us ten of millions of man-hours in wasted labor and missed appointments. That we are still laboring under this anachronistic nonsense is ridiculous.

But the the clock will work just fine. At the very worst, just set it to ignore DST, and switch its time zone twice a year. No big deal.

#30 is pretty clueless. Look into WHY DST exists. Look into how much energy it actually saves.

Then come back and bitch about missing appointments because people don't remember to do it.

The REAL thing that needs fixing is Earth being off kilter on it's axis.

oh wait, that's GWB's fault too...

# 33     Posted 6:11 PM PST 11/1 by slikkster - Email: N/A - IP: Hidden

What's all this bs about daylight savings time? All of these clocks have manual adjustments for time zone. Once the time zone is set, they just sync time once a night. In other words, they don't care about the specific hour; that's up to you to program. If it sets the time incorrectly on the "old" DST changes, so what? Just program it back/forward as need be a couple of times a year. I have an atomic watch that works this way. Takes all of 10 seconds to change the hourly setting for time zone.

You may not know this but really, the ruler of the country (the kind or the president) IS responsible for good and bad conditions his subjects have to go through.
It is stated that if the king is very sinful, his subjects will have to suffer bad economy, bad weather, bad agriculture and so on.
When a king is pious on the other hand, the land and the people prosper too. So go figure.

Of course, the atheists will really get pissed at me right now but that's ok, it's not their fault that they hate the idea that there is the supreme controler in this world cause that makes them subordinate.
Prrrrr !

#38. Bought 2 WT-3122J from 4-watches.com. Right after I order, they sent out email to tell me the clocks were out of stock and give me a choice to wait for about 2 weeks or cancel the order. The clock were shipped just after 1.5 waiting weeks, in good brand new condition, & in nice retail boxes. UPS shipping tracker was provided when the clocks were shipped. Overall, I like to buy from them since their price is less than 50% of Amazon's price for this model.
