OK, I've heard talk of a "screen dorr" effect on the 2001FP. Dows anyone have first ahnd experience with this? How about a link to discussions of the issue?

    Best of the Bunch?

How is the wide screen for photoshop and graphics and stuff? Anyone know? I was considering a nice 19 but will jump to the 21 if anyone can vouch for it being awesome for crisp graphics.

I DO NOT play any games, so all of its quality needs to be in normal mode. Anyone?

I'm down to buy any of the 19's or 21's. Let me know which is probably best.

I do lots of graphics, so don't the widescreen ones warp circles and stuff? Or is that just if the wrong resolutions can't be met? Any clue?

I do lots of web and graphics so I want to be sure I am not goofing with a widscreen that I always through was built for watching movies:)

The only reason not to buy this would be to wait for the 24" widescreen Dell to be release in March. But it's around $1100.

Not interested in waiting for the 24 inch.

Which to choose? 21 inch wide? normal, or 19? Hmm

For most real estate, 21" normal. For geekiness, yet less resolution and real estate, 20" wide. For blind people who need large fonts, 19".

Plus the 20" wide has a very common problem with backlight bleedthru.

I must be lucky because I've had no issues with the two I bought last year. I can tell you that I paid substantially more than this.

I gave in to temptation however and plunked down another $540 after tax. for my third. There's a couple of ways of hooking up a third monitor although one is much cheaper than the other.

SIGH..Ben you'll put me in the poor house!!

I ordered my 2001 this morning. According to Dell, it's on its way to the shipping company.

My company has about 120 of the 2001fp's and I haven't heard of anyone having problems like bleedthru. I have two and they're nice... the best monitor for real estate mongers. I think a top notch CRT like an HP p1130 is slightly crisper, but the 2001fp is really a great monitor. Many people play Quake on them too, so refresh must be decent.

I would expect to encounter problems with video games on the widescreen. I'm not sure why you would want one except for wow factor.
