First of all #3 ipods are not just for gays. I'm straight and I have one and women think it's cool. Second the sound isn't "awesome" but when used at reasonable volumes (like most people use it) you can't even tell. I would gladly give up a little sound quality (it's a walkman after all) for a cool look.

Ah #6, now there is the attitude Apple marketing loves to see. I like the iPod and even Macs are fine. But that comment you just made is so Apple fan typical. Cracks me up. In my experience Apple users are more concerned with how the computer (or iPod) looks than how it performs.
I think Apple could create the coolest looking plastic box with zero functionality, give it a cool name and slap the Apple logo on it and if they priced it high enough and told enough people how special and unique it makes them it would sell like hotcakes.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm not going to pay a premium on a piece of equipment over other brands for subpar sound quality but "cool" looks. #6 can continue to be self-deluded and go back to shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch with the other "cool" people.

I dunno about Apple laptops and desktops, but I disagree with you over the assessment that ipods are overpriced. Come on. The damn 4GB mini harddrive alone cost you over $200, street price of course. Can you tell me of a place where you can get it for sub-$200? I don't think so. Kudos to apple for taking this small drive and slap it in a small enough box with nice colors for all of us to enjoy our music while on the run.
So, stop bitching about iPod being overpriced. At $250. I say the apple iPod is reasonably priced. At $213? they call this SLICK DEAL.

BrandonM, I think 4gb for the size is just about right... I mean, all the high capacity mp3 players don't have the battery life to even play a quarter of the songs they COULD hold. Just my two cents :).
yalldumb, unless you're joking, I posted just a little while ago to say they were out of stock. Maybe I should've added they're out of stock on both ipods.

Yes, u can remove the Microdrive. Just have to use a blow dryer to melt the glue on the bottom, then unscrew the screws and extract.

The Mazda Miata has been replaced by the Lexus SC430 (the retractable hardtop one) and The VW Beetle convertible as official homobiles.
