Just got done doing a battery test on my Gmini 120. Downloaded, 28 full 256M Sandisk CF's or 7G of RAW & JPEG files.
Would have used my Simpletech 512M, but it won't read a Simpletech CF. That brought on a week of tech support hell.
Paid $209 @ Harmony, they double charged me, still haven't got that corrected.
Martha, Martha, Martha, what have you done?

Does the unit verify that the Image files are written correctly to the hard drive? I would like a photo wallet that does a verify so I don't lose any pictures.

#9, it's just not a hard drive, but has a built in CF reader for off loading photos. With the new 5 Mega pixel + cameras you need loads of storage if you plan on taking a lot of shots. The only other option is to have tons of CF storage or lug a laptop for off loading. Many serious photographers save images in non-compressed RAW format, which can really eat up space.

#9 Yeah, I thought alot about this....This would be great for digital cameras....whenever on vacation, i used to bring my laptop to offload my dig pictures..bringing a laptop is very inconvenient...also compact flash cards are not cheap....so...this is one great plus for this device...i just bought the 20 gig archos mp3 player for 130...so not buying this...but good point anyway.

Okay, I'd hate to be the one to bring this up but... there is now an add-on for the new iPods which allows you to read CF cards into the iPod and save your pictures to its hard drive. If you happen to already have an iPod with a dock connector and are willing to spend the $99 on Belkin's iPod card reader, that might be worthwhile. Just a thought! Don't crucify me.

My bad. I forgot to mention that the Belkin iPod card reader supports a bunch of card types, too:
Supports CompactFlash (Type 1 and 2), SmartMedia, Secure Digital (SD), Memory Stick, or MultiMediaCard (MMC)

Even with the Belkin Ipod card reader, you can't view the images you've dl'ed on the iPod screen.
