#1 I tried this out in person at office depot about a year ago, and it isn't that great. The mesh backing is very stretchy and doesn't offer much support.

Instead, I bought an expensive $250 leather chair that moves and tilts in every possible direction with great back support (I have a bad back from a sports injury).

#9 - Typical Dot-Com comment. People like you f*cked up the economy for the rest of us and jacked up home prices. Go back to your jobs classified.

Yea #10, its their fault the economy is bad (moron).

This chair is essentially an Aeron rip-off, though I do admit that the high price of those chairs outweigh the benefit.

Leather chairs (and leather furniture in general) is highly overrated. The nicest computer chairs I've seen are never leather. The good ones are thickly padded with a nicely contoured seat and back support. The shape of the seat makes a huge difference. The piece of crap I use at home cuts off circulation in my legs. My $400 chair at work is comfortable for 8+ hours. A good chair also has tilt adjustments on the fixed angles of the seat and seatback. The tilt that just lets you rock the whole seat back and forth is worthless for ergonomics purposes.

A mesh chair like this deal needs to be tested before purchase. In general I don't like mesh chairs because I don't think mesh is capable of providing the same support that good padding does. As for breathability, if you're that hot and sweaty from sitting on a fabric chair, you need to either turn on the AC or lose some weight.

First of all #10, you are not worth my time..that being said..
Think about it this way, you only get one back your whole life. Why not take care it the best you can. The Aeron Chair is a great back saver if you sit all day in a chair like I do. I have had back problems from sports injuries and this thing is a life saver. I have tried many other chairs and none of them come close to it. http://www.sit4less.com has good prices on them or you can just go to flea bay and get one pretty reasonable. One thing that is nice about them is they are setup for your individual body size.
Here are the size charts for them
http://www.sit4less.com/aeron_sizechart.html
Its a good investment and if you have a business you can write it on your taxes anyway.

I prefer to use chairs that allow for more movement... The problem with the chairs that support you is that your still atrophy while you are slaving working away. Chairs like the SwingSeat (Ebay one for $300) or the ErgoChair (http://www.sellcom.com/ergochair.html has it for $150) allow you to continually move around as you work and help fix poor posture. Plus, paying $500 for a used Aeron seems like a colossal waste.

I went and sat in these during my lunch...definatly get the chair with the headrest, it was much more comfortable. The fabric is like a micro-fiber suede type material. It does have a nap. What I want to know from somebody who has a chair like this is, does the mesh stretch out over time? This chair did not feel cheap at all but still, just want an opinion. Thanks

#16 - I think you should be on a body sling given the back injury rather than sitting on a Herman Miller Aeron. The hell with all the Dot Commies. #10 is right, I was outbid on a house by a Dot Commie by $50K!!!

#20 - Now buy it from him for $100k less, what's the problem?
