I love Olympus digicams. Compared with many of the "micro" sized cameras becoming popular, this one may look downright huge. But the larger size makes it *much* easier to grip the body and steady it for nice shots at slower shutter speeds. It also means no compromises in the internal optics department (like the Dimage and Optio were forced to make in order to squeeze everything into their slim bodies).

The only downside to the C-4000 is that it lacks the fast F1.8 lens and larger RAM buffer available in the Olympus C-x040 line. Otherwise, it's a steal at $318!

Got this last week. This is a great camera. I love it. I'm very glad I waited for a digital camera this long. I was looking hard for one that uses smartmedia because of my mp3 and notebook that use it. Actually some features on C-4000 are better than the C-4040 (with the exception of F1.8 lens). PC World has this to be the #1 rated camera with outstanding picture quality. You cannot go wrong with this. I think if I had more money I'd buy the C-5050. I think this family of Olympus is really great, and I'd love to see how they fare against the competition.

I have been watching this camera deal for a while now and Depot has been sold out for quite a while. There's a C-4000 sitting in my local store, though. Is there a way to use the $100 off coupon in the retail store? Any help would sure be appreciated!

Just print out the $100 off $500 coupon
Write down the coupon code: 25705318 on the printout and bring it to the retail store.

Works for me!!!!

Infinitycameras was selling it for $320 shipped, no tax if you're not in NY. May be better deal considering you can get a printer plus clips minus some other coupon for under $70-80, then the total is $400 plus the tax on $70-80 only. You might be able to save around $35.

This is a superb camera. I'd love to see what dpreview says about it. They got to review this because it's got more features than C-4040. I'm very happy with this camera. I was thinking about buying another camera for pure picture quality, but C-4000 is so good that I might have to buy a $600 camera to beat it. So that's money saved for me.

I also bought tons of Panorama enabled Smartmedia cards on eBay. Don't go crazy on eBay though like some people bidding over $40 for 128MB. I got mine for under $30 for 128MB piece. If you set your price low, sometimes you will get lucky and win. There are quite a few different sellers selling Olympus panorama enabled SM. If you win from a seller at low price, then bid only from that seller so you can save on shipping if you win additional more. Most sellers states that they ship 3 max on a rip-off $12 shippng total, but I was able to negotiate on that.

Coupon works with OfficeDepot. What pissed me off last week was the price they told me was $375 on the phone and in the store. So I ended up grabbing 8 cases of CD-R which was on sale to bump it to $400. Then they told me $375 was for 5 cameras. wtf. Who's going to buy 5? So I decided not to buy from them. I ended up buying printer separately for cheaper than $100.

Did anybody get it for $375 in store last week?

I am choosing between Sony S-75 and Olympus C-4000. Can anyone tell me which one is better?

I printed the order pages, and the coupon page, went to local store who had camera in stock. They honored all prices, AND gave me $100 credit off for the online coupon! Couldnt' have been smoother.
