You shouldn't even give these credit card deals; the hit on your credit for opening a new account lasts for a few years.

You'd be better off buying some scotch tape for the holes in your pink troll tent.

I'll buy a Blu-Ray disc player only when it is made by Toshiba.

#2, I went for a similar deal on the BDP S300 about six months ago while I was buying a car. I had my credit run once before and once after opening this card- my credit was not affected at all.

This is actually quite a deal. The $100 statement credit is applied immediately upon purchase so I only had to pay the lower amount. They also offer 6 months or so of zero interest so it would not cost extra to pay in a few installments. Sony has already issued a firmware update for the model I bought so it looks like they learned a lesson with their blue ray players and are actually supporting this hardware.

Its a good deal. buying the the product for just for just $200 its an good idea. By which you make the customer to benefit in both the ways. Very Happy

These rebates are good for people who don't want to deal with it, or people who own the card anyway like me. Rebate prices frequently indicate an eminent drop in price.

What #1 says is true, but you have to sign up for several cards. It isn't that you open a new account, it is how many. When I started college I would sign up for a 2 liter of Mtn Dew. After that I had a hit on my credit and it said on my report "too many credit inquiries." So just only sign up for the big ones (like $100 credit) and you'll be fine.
