No. No optical. Use one on the network or an external.

Review on tigerdirect.com:
"Pros: Small, cheap and good looking; Cons: heat problem become an issue since there is no fan included in the case, therefore a powerful cpu fan is a must; intalling a powerful cpu fan is hard and needs modification to the fan; better don'e use your old PATA drive coz the wide IDE cable generates more heat problems. Overall: good for girlfriends and grandmas."

Kinda sucks that they omitted the 5 1/4" external bay. Must've saved them $1.
Cool, 4000th post now I can retire.
@ xmenxmen
It doesn't matter if there's a point to opticals, people should have that versatility, plus, any self-respecting geek has drive rails so that addt'l bay could hold another HDD if only it existed. More choices = win.

this thing won't be a deal for me if it actually had the 5 1/4" external bay. Way too many of them out. And with network and usb drives, there's not much need for optical drive, especially when use as a network client media pc. slap in a modern celeron or exxxx cpu plus your spare 20gb drive, you are set to go.
